Home Trend : Weathered Grey Wood

Weathered grey is definitely the ‘it’ stain & tone choice for wood this year. This popular material is being used on everything from floors, wall treatments and kitchen cabinetry to all kinds of home decor pieces. Grey wood can be used as a neutral in a space, much like other tones of wood we have seen in the past. However, this is a great option for those of us who prefer grey undertones versus the usual warm tones found in wood. This versatile wood tone can be applied in any home decor style, from an ultra-modern space to a casual Cape Cod beach home.

What do you think of this popular wood tone choice? How would you use weathered grey wood in your home?

  1. I am trying desperately to duplicate the color of weathered wood in a pain or faux finish and can’t get the colors right. Any help on the colors I need and the finish technique I could use – rub, rag, etc? It needs to be a paint since I will be painting over almond kitchen cabinets! Thank you!
