The first signs of spring have sprung! The days are getting longer and there a buds on the trees. There is no denying that as soon as the spring sunshine starts to pour in to our interior spaces, we are lit with the desire to freshen up.
One of my favourite places to start my spring cleaning is the foyer. There is something about switching your jackets and shoes from snow gear to spring gear that makes the change of season feel official.
Storage at the front door is key. While a closet with hanging storage is great, I always find a chest of drawers to be quite beneficial if you are lacking in built in storage. I have selected a chest a drawers here with mirrored detailing to help with the reflection of light into the space. I have also selected an umbrella stand for those rainy days and a fun decorative bowl for easy key storage. The art is matted with mirror, again for that fabulous element of light reflection. This whimsical stool is handy for taking off shoes and the glass lamp is a great way to add warmth and light. The decorative accents such as the grasshopper are a great way to add style and fun to the space. Consider displaying some of your favourite items that remind you of spring, and most importantly have fun with it!
To coordinate, here are a few of my favourite fresh Benjamin Moore Paint colours: OC-117 Simply White, 2022-40 Banana Yellow and 2040-70 Spring Mint.
