If it’s not Baroque, don’t fix it!
Baroque is traditionally viewed as a dramatic and luxurious style, with deep rich colors. The furnishings in Baroque spaces are all of the highest quality and evoke feelings of grandeur.
But let’s face it, we’re not in the 1600’s anymore, and items are a lot more affordable and accessible. To take this style from the past and make it work in a modern space, one should deconstruct the style and take from it simpler elements. To lighten it up, choose lesser carved woods and less intense uses of colour. Evoke the feeling of movement through the use of damask printed wallpaper, and flowy curtains. And remember, if it’s not Baroque, don’t fix it!
