Colour of the Month : Wild Aster

COTM_Wild Aster

Blush pink is no longer just for little girls, Wild Aster 1240 is the perfect shade of pale pink for any age. The grey undertone in Wild Aster gives this colour a sophisticated edge; allowing the soft, subtle tones to serve as a neutral in many different colour palette’s.

For a modern touch, try Wild Aster with a range of grey’s and a pop of crisp white – see inspiration images above.

Benjamin Moore describes this colour beautifully. “A pale gray undertone makes this subtle pink almost neutral; a delicate shade evocative of a field of wildflowers caressed by the wind on a summer day.”

Simply White OC-117 is Benjamin Moore’s 2016 Color of the Year! Check out the inspiration spaces painted in this shade of white here.

“Layered whites, diffused light… AMBIENCE. Surrender to the complexity of white.”

“Striking contrasts, bold lines… DEFINITION. Angles and edges become sharply defined as white is cut with black.”

“White-washed walls, hand-hewn beams… TEXTURE.”

“Energizing color, crisp white borders… FOCUS. White frames and flatters.”

We are very exciting to celebrate the beauty of Simply White in 2016! This has been our #1 shade of white for over 10 years, thanks to it’s soft neutral undertones and flexibility, it can be paired with almost any color!

Designer Picks: Laura’s Bringing the Outside In

Bringing the Outdoors In

With fall just around the corner, it is a great time to rejuvenate or redecorate your home. With kids back to school, temperatures getting colder, we are spending more time indoors and so what better time to bring a bit of the outside, inside your homes. Traditionally fall brings out the reds, oranges and golds into our palette, but there is other ways even in a modern or contemporary setting, to bring nature inside your home.

Branches are my inspiration, but not in the literal sense. While there are some amazing DIY’s on Pinterest to bring real branches into your décor, there are some stunning pieces in home décor to introduce the feeling of the outside branches without literally chopping them down. Whether you are looking for a large statement or smaller items to bring branches inside, there are many choices today with furniture, wall art or smaller décor items. These are just a few of my favourites…

To pop these décor accents, try my favourite Benjamin Moore wall colours CSP-25 Wool Peacoat, 2112-40 Pewter and Ashley Gray HC-87.
